Gold nanospheres under an electron microscope

Under the microscope

images of the center’s samples taken with electron microscopes

  • Every batch is quality checked

We check size, shape and optical properties with DLS, UV-Vis, SEM and TEM.

  • Fresh synthesis for every order

We do not keep materials in stock, we synthesize them for each specific request. Lead time starts at one day.

  • Parameters for your task

We tailor particle size and shape, stabilizer and surface chemistry to your specification.

Frequently asked questions

about ordering, lead times, pricing and storage

How do I order a material?

Write to us which material you need, in what quantity and for what task. We will clarify the parameters and lead time and reply by email. The minimum order depends on the product: colloidal solutions from 0.5 mL, quantum dots from 10 mg, calcium carbonate from 100 mg.

How much do the products cost?

The price depends on quantity, particle size and surface modification. We calculate it for each request and send it with our reply.

How long does production take?

Gold nanoparticles, quantum dots and calcium carbonate take 1–2 days. For metal–organic frameworks the lead time depends on quantity and the required modification, and we name it once the task is clear.

In what form are the materials supplied?

Gold nanoparticles and quantum dots are supplied as aqueous colloidal solutions with a stabilizer, metal–organic frameworks as powders. Concentration and stabilizer are listed on each product’s page.

Can the size or surface be changed?

Yes. We tailor particle size and shape, stabilizer and surface functionalization to your specification. For example, the plasmon resonance of nanorods, the emission peak of quantum dots, and the crystal size and surface chemistry of metal–organic frameworks can all be tuned.

How should the materials be stored?

Colloidal solutions are stored in a refrigerator. Nanospheres stay stable for more than 6 months, nanorods and nanocubes for at least a month. Nanostars tend to aggregate and are best used within 4 hours of synthesis. Storage conditions for each product are listed on its page.
